-My humble review on Tiger Beer Band Competition:
All the bands were good, all were worthy winners, all played well, all very creative, one of the judges also very handsome (see in Gallery).
This coming 13th Aug, I wil dive off the
stage without taking any medicine. Surprisingly for that night (tiger beer) i did not feel extremely tired like normally after banging Si Ai Bin.
-as long as we have music, the day will never end, as long as we have rock, tomorrow will be wonderful, as long as i upgrade my studio, i have to work my axx off to find the fund.
-its 7.01am, got to have a short nap before work.

It’s been more than 2 weeks since last updated, guess all my friends who visited
www.uglymen.net knew what happened to me, down with the dreaded asthma, cancelled more than 45 lessons and eventually now need to replace one by one. Will take some time I guess, since Uglymen is again performing this coming weekend on, eh.. opps, its tomorrow, 23rd July 2005 in Penang, Leeith (wrong spelling i guess) Street Pub. Then really looking forward to the 13th August Super Gig in SK… eh.. it’s Sri Kembangan, super far from KL town, organised by our new friend malikhang (former Malaysia Chinese Hard Rock Band pioneer, ALIENOID) and we will be playing with Malito (from former ALIENOID members YAHOO!! they are great man!, esp the brothers who play drum and guitar) Mumster (now called Dropout) and another band called Met Mercury)

Uglymen Band Workshop

OK let’s kick start the show, Metal start off “Robot” to a finally approx 50+ crowd…
Who were there? Signature Band, Ah Tiong, Elvis, Ah Yeow, Last Minute Band, Ah Chuan, my sister, kaevin……..
Second song was “Bubble Tea”, hey look at Metal’s face, what’s he tariking?

Last song before we start our dialogue with the audience: DO MI DO, not bad at all, those kids are really fast learners as they sang along well. cool..
Introducing the members: on guitar ah suan, on bass, (hooi grab the mike and said quickly, my name is ah hooi, guess he thought i was going to say “his name is BASSIST”)
And the very-happy-ah Kai Jiunn raised his arms to set his presence.
Basically, we talked on our band history, how we got to know each other, how the band was formed, and parts of the many difficulties which we have been going through all these years and made us what we are today.
We shared some humble experience with the appreciative crowd, touching on topics such as Set up of a band, Role of a band leader, Objectives, Do’s and Dont’s of Jemming, Importance of Metronem, Tuners, Commitment, Ear Training, and importance of knowing more than one instrument.
We hope we did our little part in helping those kids out there to move forward, inspiring them to play more music and in the correct attitude of music education approach.
As usual, we crabbed ourselves off for almost 50minutes before we noticed we were running out of time…
So the show continues…
KJ, the calmest guy in the auditorium, starts off “Sor Lou”.
Second last song was Ciak Ka Ki
And Uglymen finally signed off with the final song at approx 9.20pm
